Badgley Phelps named a top corporate philanthropist at event honoring Blake Nordstrom

Giving back is a priority for us as a firm and as individuals. That’s why we’re thrilled to be among the Puget Sound Business Journal’s 2019 Corporate Philanthropy list makers, ranking #18 out of 30 small companies in the area to receive the honor. The list will be featured in the publication’s annual Giving Guide and was announced at last week’s Corporate Citizenship awards luncheon.

At the event, the 2019 Corporate Champion Honorees were named. In a touching moment, Blake Nordstrom posthumously received the Humanitarian Award for Corporate Giving, which was created this year in his name. The award was accepted by Blake’s wife and family.

Some of the other honorees include Dick’s Drive-In, praised for its commitment to education; K&L Gates, recognized for serving vulnerable communities; and Microsoft, named Corporate Champion of the Year. Congratulations to all who were honored.

Our firm has always been committed to serving others. At the Corporate Citizenship luncheon, each attendee received a card with a quote from Blake Nordstrom that’s worth sharing and remembering:

“It’s the little things. It’s about extending ourselves—it’s human kindness. I think if you’re true to yourself, if you treat people the way you’d like to be treated and you try hard, you’re going to do fine.”
